The first Grasys industrial membrane plant in Russia for helium recovery from natural gas was successfully tested at the Kovykta gas and condensate field. This is a joint project of Gazprom OJSC and RPC Grasys in the field of helium production.
«The completed test stage confirms compliance of the membrane plant with the engineering assignment, design analysis and regulatory documentation, and its efficiency in terms of helium recovery from helium-bearing gas», comments Dmitry Solodov, the Deputy Director of the Hydrocarbon Project Department of RPC Grasys.
During the acceptance testing, the membrane
The data obtained during the testing will be used for design of industrial membrane plants at the facilities of Gazprom OJSC, in particular, the Chayandinskoe oil, gas and condensate field. For the Russian gas market, this project has a great strategic importance considering that the Siberia based commercial production will bring us to leadership in the global helium production.
