The Research and Production Company Grasys has successfully launched the nitrogen production complex for NOVATEK-Ust-Luga LLC. Grasys has realized an efficient engineering solution for production of nitrogen used in purging and cleaning of pipelines during scheduled repairs of the stable gas condensate processing plant as part of the Ust-Luga seaport transshipment terminal.
The Russia’s unique Ust-Luga transshipment project, which allows shipping products (heavy and light naphtha, jet fuel, marine fuel, and liquefied hydrocarbon gas) processed immediately in the port, avails of the most advanced equipment ensuring the highest possible level of process automation and assurance of industrial and environmental safety.
The project specifics is predetermined by the location of all facilities comprising the transshipment terminal of the commercial seaport situated on an artificial island, which required a customized solution from the Grasys specialists. As a result, the most efficient and optimal design version was suggested.
The nitrogen production complex with a total capacity of 1,500 cubic meters of 99.5% nitrogen per hour is equipped with an up-to-date control system providing full control of the station operation. The Intelligent Control-7 system of Grasys allows for manual, automatic and remote operation, with optional real-time remote monitoring through the Internet or wireless network (GSM, GPRS) web-browser, as well as remote diagnostics of process parameters — the advanced technology developed by Grasys for continuous equipment supervision.
In the course of performance of the turn-key contract, Grasys developed the design and detail documentation, manufactured and supplied the equipment and carried out installation supervision and commissioning. The high level of production organization, prompt and workmanlike performance of the company specialists made it possible to complete all works properly and in full compliance with the agreed schedule.
