R&P Co. Grasys Has Completed Construction of the Russia’s First Membrane Elements Production for Helium Extraction from Natural Gas

On September 30, 2020, Dubna witnessed a special event dedicated to construction completion of the Grasys full-scale manufacturing facility to produce gas separation membrane elements for helium separation from natural gas.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Dubna Special Economic Zone (SEZ Dubna), Moscow region government, Dubna municipal administration, the Industrial Development Fund, Dubna Council of Deputies, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Srednerussky Bank of Sberbank, who had lent a considerable support in this project implementation.

Words of welcome were provided by R&P Co. Grasys’ Chairman of the Board of Directors, R&P Co. Grasys’ General Director, Grasys-Tech’ General Director, temporary in charge Head of the Dubna City District, Director of SEZ Dubna, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

After the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony the company’s Technical Director gave a tour round the production area and shared the unique technology of manufacturing membrane elements with the guests.

This project is being implemented within agreement signed with the Ministry of Investments and Innovations of Moscow Region and SEZ TVT Dubna JSC, with financial support provided by the Industrial Development Fund. At the end of 2018 the Industrial Development Fund granted the company a low-interest loan in the amount of 500 million rubles under The Component Products program at 1% per annum for the first three years and 5% for the remaining two years. The overall budget of the project for the new production establishment surpassed 740 million rubles.

Moving forward, within its Dubna site the company is planning to localize production of hollow fiber membranes to treat associated petroleum and natural gas that is currently being purchased from abroad.
