Automatic Control System (CNG Station)
The automatic control system (ACS) is an information and control system that controls all the process equipment of the CNG station and its auxiliary mechanisms. The ACS is used to control the compressor unit according to a pre-set algorithm, to monitor parameters, protect the compressor unit against emergency operating conditions, provide information on the status of machinery, and communicate the unit status to a superordinate level.
The compressor units are equipped with a programmable controller-based automation system that provides:
- Remote start-up and shut-down of the compressor;
- Measurement of gas pressure and temperature at the compressor inlet and outlet;
- Monitoring of oil pressure and temperature in the lubrication system;
- Immediate shutdown of the compressor unit in the event of fire detection;
- Automatic gas pressure control at the outlet;
- Maintenance of the set temperature in the container;
- Motor start-up lock and shut-down in case of emergency and if compressor unit process parameters do not match the set values;
- Functional communication with the superordinate ACS (via an agreed protocol);
- Archiving of the compressor unit's operating parameters;
- Functional communication with the superordinate ACS (via an agreed protocol).
