Sulphur removal by liquid phase oxidation of hydrogen sulphide with a chelated iron solution is a simple and straightforward solution. In the first stage of the process, the feed gas passes through an aqueous solution of an iron chelate-based catalyst in which hydrogen sulphide interacts with iron ions to form fine elemental sulphur and an iron ion solution. Iron ions have virtually no interaction with the other components of the gas because the catalyst acts selectively on the hydrogen sulphide.
The spent solution is sent to a second oxidation stage where 2Fe+2 iron ions are regenerated with air oxygen. The regenerated solution is returned to the first stage. The core chemical process is technically simple and completely environmentally friendly.

High unit reliability and durability
At least 250 sulphur removal units based on this technology have been in operation worldwide for more than 30 years, including in the CIS countries.

Completely Russian designed, the equipment is cheaper than its foreign counterparts
The sulphur removal units are manufactured at the Grasys production facility. Due to the use of a safe Russian-made catalyst, which is continuously regenerated with atmospheric air, the units have moderate capital costs and low operating costs.
