The research and production company Grasys supplied the nitrogen and air compressor stations to the Verkhnechonskoe oil/gas/condensate field – one of the largest fields in Eastern Siberia and second priority field for oil export to ESPO. The Verkhnechonskoe field located 1100 km north of Irkutsk is unique in terms of its specifics and infrastructure. Remoteness, absence of transport infrastructure and severe climatic conditions place tougher requirements on equipment reliability to ensure its safe field operation.
Grasys production site
According to the Customer special requirements, the company engineering department developed the compressor station design to withstand extreme temperatures up to minus 60°С during its operation, transportation, installation and storage. The nitrogen station is completed with Grasys membrane modules which unlike any others do not lose their declared properties even after extended exposure to low temperatures.
The nitrogen membrane station with a total capacity of 600 cubic meters per hour and product nitrogen purity of up to 99% will be the only nitrogen source for several technological applications. The nitrogen produced will be used for purging of equipment and pipelines before repair, pressure testing of equipment after repair, scavenging of flare systems, nitrogen blanketing of methanol tanks and compressor gas seals, generation of nitrogen curtain and feeding fire-fighting systems of coolant fire heaters. For achievement of such extended functionality the nitrogen station design provides for two nitrogen production lines – high-pressure line and low-pressure line operating in parallel.
Grasys air compressor station transportation
The air compressor station is intended for air conditioning for pneumatically driven regulating valves. Considering the complex climatic conditions in the Verkhnechonskoe field, the company engineering department designed the facility with a dew point of -70°С. The capacity of the air station is 600 cubic meters of air per hour.
Packaged compressor stations are produced by RPC Grasys at its in-house state-of-the-art production site, including equipment assembly, quality control and acceptance, on the basis of the modern methods for production projects management. All Grasys equipment is subject to testing and produced in strict compliance with the Customer high demands. RPC Grasys has a track record of successfully performed projects in view of third-party auditors’ requirements. Yet another evidence of superior quality of Grasys compressor stations was their successful acceptance upon workshop testing by the independent expert commission SEG Engineering Limited supervising the equipment production process for the Customer.
