GRASYS has supplied a nitrogen membrane plant for Irkutsk Oil Company

17 February 2010

Pursuant to a recent contract, GRASYS has supplied a membrane nitrogen plant to LLC Irkutsk Oil Company. Nitrogen that will be produced by the GRASYS plant will be used for extinguishing preheaters at the oil treatment plant in the Yaraktinskoe field (Ust-Kutsky and Katangsky districts of the Irkutsk region).

The supplied plant is rated to produce 25 cubic meters per of 99.5% nitrogen. The nitrogen plant operates in a completely automated mode with no manned attendance required during operation. The key units of GRASYS nitrogen system are the gas separation unit, the compressor, the air dryer and the control system. The gas separation unit has no moving parts thus ensuring the system exceptional reliability.

The plant is equipped with the up-to-date automatic control system (ACS) allowing comprehensive and effective control of the systems operation. Apart from manual and automatic operation, it provides the remote control option. The ACS enables individual control of the plant equipment units or unit groups which helps enhance its operating flexibility.

GRASYS membrane units designed for nitrogen production find the broadest application in the oil and gas complex, at chemical and petrochemical plants, in metallurgy, food industry and many other industries.

GRASYS is one of the world leading manufacturers of membrane and adsorption plants for nitrogen and oxygen production, gas mix control etc.

For the moment, LLC Irkutsk Oil Company is participating through its subsidiaries in the development of 11 fields and license blocks. According to the 2009 results, the companies comprising the holding have produced 370 thousand tons of raw hydrocarbons.
