Metal powder is used in printers that find broad industrial application for manufacturing metal parts, including those of steel, metal alloys, aluminum, titanium, cobalt chromium and inconel, with material selective laser melting technology. In order to avoid reactive metal oxidation, operating procedure is required to ensure oxygen-free atmosphere in the fusible particle fluid - nitrogen and argon are used with this aim in view.

To provide nitrogen for uninterrupted operation and potentially continuous running-duty of a three-dimensional industrial printer, it is suitable to use bottled nitrogen, as well as to produce gaseous nitrogen at the 3D products manufacturing site using adsorption nitrogen units or Grasys small-size nitrogen generators, which will be more convenient and cost-effective with a certain volume of consumed nitrogen.
